Machines With Vision look ahead to Rail Live 2024

As we head into June, the Machines With Vision team are getting ready to take part in Rail Live 2024, the UK’s largest outdoor rail event. This year marks the second time the team have taken part in the event, which attracts a diverse and varied range of experts from across the industry.

Ahead of the event, Jon Owen (CTO) delves into the things that the team are most looking forward to seeing at Rail Live and what delegates at the event can expect to see when they visit the Machines With Vision stand:

“At Rail Live, we are most looking forward to meeting everyone who has a problem that we can solve. The railway can be a dangerous place - and one of our objectives is to make it safer by getting workers directly to where they need to be, as fast as possible for as short time as possible.

“Rail Live is one of the most talked about events in the UK and this year we are excited to be unveiling our mobile app, Fault Navigator. We believe that Fault Navigator is truly unique – it offers a wealth of benefits to users, including increasing efficiencies and improving safety by getting people to where they need to be. We are also proud to be part of Network Rail’s Class 153 project at the event and look forward to seeing one of the trains down there.

“On our stand, we will be demoing Fault Navigator – if you spend any time at all on site, we thoroughly encourage you to come and experience the technology in person. As well as exhibiting Fault Navigator, we will be discussing with delegates at length how our technology underpins new analytics, that will drive predictive maintenance through defect prediction.

“Rail Live at its core is an event that truly celebrates close cross-industry collaboration. No company can deliver everything by themselves - there is just simply too much to do. The Class 153 project is a prime example of collaboration in action, with multiple companies sharing concepts, ideas and working to integrate systems to deliver a first-class service.

“Ultimately, everyone in the industry wants to see an efficient, cost effective and safe railway. However, we can only get there by bringing our ideas, technologies, and concepts together. Network operators must rely on the innovations that exist in the marketplace and for that to evolve, ideas must be shared and improved upon - without that drive for innovation, we stand still and don’t progress.

“Finally, we encourage you to come and experience our unique demonstration and provide your feedback, as this enables us to drive our solutions forward. We look forward to seeing everyone there.”

The Machines With Vision stand and Fault Navigator demo can be found in Zone M on stand M246 and you can also visit the team in Network Rail’s Class 153 project.
